DESCRIPTION:April 17-21\, 2026 \n\n\n \nCampFI is going International! With the help and encouragement from Darren and Jolene of the Dare to Draw Down blog\, CampFI is going to Spain! We chose Santiago de Compostela in large part because many in the FIRE community have shared their experiences with hiking the Camino and we figured it would be a wonderful way to experience Spain with a friendly group of FI-minded people and to give the opportunity for folks to coordinate their own Camino hiking experience (before or after CampFI)\, if desired. \n\n\n \nI’ve reserved accommodations in a 15th century monastery located in the heart of old town Santiago de Compostela\, Spain. It’s a beautiful venue within footsteps of nightlife\, museums\, hiking\, historical buildings and landmarks. Notably\, it is also the terminus of the well-known Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. \n\n\n \nDeviating from the typical CampFI schedule of a 3 night event from Friday to Monday\, CampFI: Spain will be a FOUR night event from Friday April 17th to Tuesday April 21st. Your ticket covers all meals\, lodging\, CampFI presentations and workshops. \n \nCan I get a private room? \nThe retreat center we are renting has single and shared rooms.  We have 18 single occupancy rooms and 26 double occupancy rooms (70 total people). If you prefer a private room\, please choose the single occupancy ticket at registration. \n**To clarify – a ticket needs to be purchased for each person.  The Double Occupancy choice means you will be sharing with someone else who also has a separate Double Occupancy ticket.  It does not mean that one ticket gets you an entire room with two beds.** \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n  \n \nAll rooms have a full bathroom with shower and hairdryer\, telephone\, heating and free WIFI internet \nHow many tickets are there? \n \n \n \n \n \n \nWe have room for 70 people at this event. Our accommodations are a 15th century former monastery.\n\n\n\nPeople have been making spiritual and religious pilgrimages to Santiago de Compostela for over a thousand years. Guests can enjoy a bar\, meeting rooms\, a TV lounge\, and disabled access. DESCRIPTION:May 22-25\, 2026 \n\n\n\nIf you live in (or want to visit) the Mid-Atlantic U.S. and would like to hang out with other FIREwalkers for a fun-filled\, relaxing weekend that will include good food\, good conversation\, great people\, outdoor activities and a few presentations sprinkled in\, please join us. \n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nNOT JUST FOR BLOGGERS!  People from all walks of life including students\, dentists\, lawyers\, engineers\, accountants\, and members of the military share their unique experiences and interesting stories.  Strong and lasting friendships will be made. \n\n\n\nI’ve rented out a retreat center in Virginia\, between Richmond and Norfolk.  It’s a beautiful rural venue with canoeing\, swimming\, nature trails\, and other recreational activities and it is located on the scenic James River. \n\n\n\nYour ticket covers presentations\, food (Dinner Friday through Breakfast Monday)\, and lodging for all 3 nights. \n\n\n\nOptional recreational activities include swimming\, canoeing\, kayaking\, frisbee football\, volleyball\,  hiking\, weather permitting. \n\n\n\nPresenters and presentation topics are in the planning stage.  Details will be shared with the attendees as the event nears. Both are Double Occupancy (you will have a roommate) – linens and towels are provided. You are responsible for your toiletries. \n\n\n\nChalets– $345.00  per person.  Chalet (bring your own linens) or Tent (bring your own tent). Chalets are basically an elevated screened-in\, open air porch with no electricity or water.  Each Chalet contains twin-size bunk beds with all-weather mattresses. We are responsible for our own linens. Sheets\, blankets\, sleeping bags\, pillows\, towels\, washcloths\, etc. Each Chalet is within a short walk from a bath house. The bath houses have stalled showers\, toilets and shared sinks.  Consider bringing flip flops or shower shoes. It gets very dark around the Chalet areas at night\, so bring a headlamp or a flashlight for late-night bathroom trips. \n\n \nHow much are children? \nChildren 0-3 are free\, and children 4-8 are $220. Children 9 and up are full price. \nIf you’re interested in bringing children\, please consider that we never know how many children are coming until the event\, so we can’t promise how many kids will be there\, or what ages. Please be prepared that your child may not have many playmates and might need your supervision. \nCan I get a private room? \nCampFI offers rooms\, each with a private bath. Each room is furnished with one double and one single bed. To increase occupancy\, rollaway beds are available.  Pricing reflects double occupancy (you will most likely have a roommate) and is per-person. \nCan I camp or bring an RV? \nThe retreat center does not have RV hookups but it does have tent campsites (Bring your own tent).  If you prefer camping in a tent\, that is perfectly fine.  This is a good opportunity for those who want to experience camping\, maybe for the first time.  Restrooms and showers are close-by. \nHow many tickets are there? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nWe have 65 regular room tickets and 20 Chalet/Tent tickets available.  A waiting list will be maintained when all tickets are sold.

DESCRIPTION:Jan 8-11\, 2027 (Fri-Mon)\n\n\n\nCampFI: Southeast is returning for 2027. \n\n\n\nHave you ever wondered what it would be like to hang out with 60 friends out in nature\, playing basketball\, archery\, canoeing\, sitting on the porch talking\, eating\, listening\, learning\, relaxing and being unplugged from the daily grind? \n\n\n\nYou aren’t the only one. \n\n\n\nSince 2017\, we’ve welcomed over 3\,000 FIREwalkers from all across the country who enjoyed meeting and spending time with their tribe.  It started just outside of Gainesville\, FL  and we are doing it again in 2027.  Come join us for 4 days and 3 nights at a beautiful retreat center just east of Gainesville\, FL and enjoy nature\, meetup with new and old friends\, relax\, have fun\, and maybe even learn a thing or two that will help you along your Financial Independence journey and a more fulfilled life. \n\n\n\nIf you can’t make this one\, but you are interested in future CampFI events\, please stay up to date at www.campfi.org \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nPAST featured guests have included: Paula Pant of www.affordanything.com \n\n\n\nJ.D. It’s a beautiful rural venue with canoeing\, swimming\, nature trails and other recreational activities. \n\n\n\nYour ticket covers food and lodging for 3 nights. \n  \n\n\n\n***NOTE:  This event is scheduled for Jan 8-11 (Friday-Monday).  This is the second of 3 CampFI events at the same location in 2027.  The first one begins immediately before this one on Tuesday Jan 5-8\, 2027 and the third CampFI at this same Florida location is scheduled for March 5-8\, 2027*** \n  \n\n\n\nQ&A: \n  \n\n\n\nHow much are children? \n\n\n\nChildren 0-3 are free\, and children 4-7 are $250. Children 8 and up are full price. \n\n\n\nIf you’re interested in bringing children\, please consider that we never know how many children are coming until the end\, so we can’t promise how many kids will be there\, or what ages. Please be prepared that your child may not have many playmates and might need your supervision.  Having said that\, we have had many children attend with no issues.  This is a family friendly event. \n  \n\n\n\nCan I get a private room? \n\n\n\nThe retreat center we are renting has shared rooms.  Most are double occupancy and some can sleep up to seven people.  We will default to 2 to a room first and overflowing into the other rooms as groups prefer and/or demand requires it. You will likely be sharing a room with one other person of the same gender\, unless you ordered two (or more) tickets together or give me advance notice of your preferred roommate. We default to rooming people together who registered together\, unless you advise us otherwise. \n  \n\n\n\nCan I camp or bring an RV? \n\n\n\nThe retreat center does have RV hookups and Tent campsites (Bring your own tent).  If you prefer to bring your RV or camp in a tent\, that is perfectly fine.  However\, it will not affect your ticket price.  This location is a perfect opportunity for those who always wanted\, to take an opportunity to camp.  All of the amenities are close by. \n  \n\n\n\nHow many tickets are there? \n\n\n\nWe have room for 70 people at this event. Depending on how many kids and families sign up\, we may have a room for a few more. We will open up a waiting list when all the tickets are sold. \n  \nAre the tickets refundable? \n\n\n\nNo. Tickets are not refundable\, BUT life happens and if you for some reason find yourself unable to attend\, please notify us by email immediately. We will work to fill your spot with someone on the waitlist. \nIf we ARE able to fill your spot from the waitlist\, we will return the cost of your order net the original credit card processing fees (approximately 3%) we incurred when you ordered. \nEmail campfi.org@gmail.com \nNo transfers will be entertained within 2 weeks prior to the event. \nDo NOT post on the CampFI FB page or in the CampFI: Alumni FB group that you are looking to sell or purchase a ticket for any CampFI events.
